Printer 1 runs contra-rotating. The web comes off the roll, through the tension-controller dancer festoon, up to the turn roller, and drops to the roller on the right of Printer 1 — so it enters that nip from the right (a U-turn) and the cylinders must spin the opposite way to Printer 2 and Genkan. Watch the spokes: Printer 1 turns one way, Printer 2 and Genkan the other.

Route, roll → fold

  • TTension controller — the dancer festoon (up/down loops) keeps web tension constant before the printers.
  • 1Printer 1 — back, contra-rotating. Fed from the right via the turn roller, so it prints the reverse and spins opposite to the others.
  • 2Printer 2 — front. Straight-through, normal rotation.
  • 3Genkan (減感). White desensitizing ink in spot zones (no copy-through on carbonless multipart).
  • CCylindrical cutting. Lateral punch (sprocket) holes, toji binding holes and lateral cut.
  • FFolding front. Zig-zag fold to the delivered stack.
